ATHOL — A Lynn woman was ordered held on $5,000 bail this week after a traffic stop led to her arrest on drug trafficking charges.

Demetrius Daily, 41, pleaded not guilty in Orange District Court to two counts of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute and a single count of possession of a Class A substance (fentanyl) with intent to distribute. One Class B charge is for crack, while the other is for cocaine.

According to the Athol Police Department’s Facebook page, Officer Paul Forand noticed a vehicle was driving on Main Street without its tail lights illuminated on Monday. He reportedly stopped the vehicle and requested help from Detective Corey Chauvette and Orange Police Detective Travis Rushford. After a brief investigation, Officer Christopher Bisceglia and K9 Orka of the Orange Police Department were also requested.

Daily was arrested after a search of the vehicle revealed the drugs in her possession.
