Local roundup: Frontier boys volleyball wins second match in a row with 3-1 triumph over Putnam

Make it two in a row for the Frontier boys volleyball team. 

After knocking off PV Christian on Wednesday, the Redhawks traveled to Springfield to face Putnam on Friday and behind 17 kills for Aleks Carey, walked away with a 3-1 victory in their first PVIAC East match of the season. 

Frontier won the opening set 25-23, fell 25-21 in the second set but responded with 25-19, 25-21 set wins to come away with the victory. 

Jack Carey finished with 14 kills, Tavo Vincent Warner dished 29 assists, Evan Maio came up with 19 digs while Theo Sargent tallied three aces for the Redhawks. 

Bowling

Missy Finn rolled the women’s high single (114) and triple (274) in the Monday Mixed League at the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley this past week. 

John Rodgers had the men’s high single (130) and triple (374).
