Lilith of the Valley event to turn spotlight on female musicians

GREENFIELD — With a mission to celebrate and honor the tradition of local female musicians and artists, PRIA Music Marketing presents a unique night of both music and activism on Saturday at Greenfield’s Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center.

“Lilith of the Valley: Music and Mystique” will showcase some of the Pioneer Valley’s most talented female musicians, including:

Lily Sexton (acoustic/folk featuring members of Mamma’s Marmalade and Carinae)

ReBelle (reggae featuring Kalpana Devi)

Flathead Rodeo (rockabilly featuring Miriam Sirota)

Ex-Temper (an all-female alternative rock band),

Britt Koff (hip-hop)

and DJ Cherry Moto (house music)

The night will also feature female artists and vendors, the comedic stylings of Chrystel Dawn in between sets, and a special showing of the groundbreaking documentary “The Breast Archives.” Artists and vendors will include Sacred Holistic Arts, The Art of Onge, Tangible Bliss and Old 78 Clothing.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a showing of the film at 6, followed by a Q&A session with the film’s visionary creator, Meagan Murphy. Music will start at 7:30. The movie screening is included in the ticket price, which is $7 in advance at www.hawksandreed.com and $10 on the day of the show.
