Pioneer is back on track

Thursday, June 14, 2018

It is with great pleasure that we note that Jonathan Scagel has been elected interim Superintendent of the Pioneer Valley Regional School District. Scagel is a dynamic young leader with smarts and a world of good ideas. He has also observed first hand the problems in the district and is prepared to deal with them.

As I heard him speak the other night, I knew that some school district somewhere was going to get a great young leader. I am glad that the Pioneer School Committee had the insight to make him the leader of our district.

Lots of work is on the horizon, organizationally and financially. But we now have the leadership to deal with it. A new day is dawning at Pioneer, and Pioneer has put up a sign that says “We are open for business again!” after three dark years.

If you are a student, or a parent of a student looking for a place to go to school, you would be wise to consider Pioneer. Three years ago Pioneer was a destination school at the very top of county public high schools. Pioneer is on its way back. Get in on the excitement. Join us!
