David Levandusky: Greenfield first responders top notch

A letter of gratitude long overdue. Our Greenfield community service workers deserve special recognition and appreciation for their outstanding professional service given to me from a car accident I had a couple months ago in Wendy’s parking lot.

While trying to park, I accidentally stepped on the gas pedal and missed the brake and went over the bank, hitting the car at the bottom of the bank. Two of the people in my car were injured. The police were called and the emergency ambulance workers and the firefighters as well.

All these community service workers were so very professional in their care and work in serving us, caring for us, relating to us, calming our emotional state and representing their responsibilities in community service to us who were injured. They spoke so kindly and politely and shared what needed to be done, and that they were there to give us all the help we needed.

Greenfield can be proud to have such high-caliber community service workers in our Police Department, Fire Department and ambulance service who know how to show love and care and to help those in need as they did with me and those with me on that tragic day.

And a special thanks also to the lady at the bottom of the bank whose car I hit as she waved to me, shared a smile and put my mind a little at rest as well. She was so very kind even though it was her car I had hit. I was not able to go down over the bank to speak with her because of my limping leg problem not caused by the accident.

It shows there are still wonderful, kind people that demonstrate understanding in difficult situations. A special thanks to her as well.
