Tom Deskavich: Clearing sidewalks unfair to elderly

Congratulations to the Select Board of Deerfield. Because you can’t pass a vote you find a way to bully the elderly of the town of Deerfield by making them clean the sidewalks in front of their property.

There are very few roads in Deerfield with sidewalks and the elderly live on most of them. There is at least one resident over 85 who has over 190 feet of sidewalk to clear. You don’t care as long as you get your vote. Hope you sleep well tonight, and thank God we have a new library to look forward to.
