Recently, the Recorder ran a column by John Bos titled “Questions for Trump supporters” [Aug. 26] in which he asked if anyone could tell him why they would vote for Donald Trump. I would ask the same thing about Joe Biden and the Democrats. It seems as if the last three years have been nothing but chaos, failure, and incompetence in almost every area of life. And seeing as how the Democrats control almost everything nowadays, I would lay the blame at their feet, not Trump’s.

The price of gas and milk was better under Trump. The southern border was more secure under Trump, the war in Ukraine didn’t start under Trump, violent crime and shoplifting, homelessness and drug addiction weren’t nearly as high as they are today. The fiasco that resulted in the Afghanistan withdrawal didn’t happen under Trump with 13 military members being killed and President Biden reading his wristwatch as the coffins were ceremoniously removed from the transport plane.

Now we have our Democratic leaders declaring states of emergency due to the influx of undocumented immigrants just a few years after they were boasting about being sanctuary states and calling Donald Trump racist for not allowing more of them in. We have police staffing issues in almost every Democrat-run city after they bragged about defunding the police.

This list is almost endless with the incompetence the Democratic Party has created today. But I’m not supposed to vote for Trump because he sends mean tweets? Because I don’t like his personality? I will vote for the Republican whether the candidate is under indictment or not.
