A remarkable book sale

I want to thank Ken Schoen of Schoen Books in South Deerfield for the quite remarkable annual book sale that happened on Sunday, May 7. So much effort went into this event on the part of Ken with the help of many of his friends. People pick the books that they want and then decide how much they would like to pay. All of the money collected goes to local non-profit charities! $1,500 was divided among about six different non-profits that help community members in need. And 500 books are now being enjoyed by the readers that chose the books. It is a generous and rare event! I hope this model inspires other businesses to have similar events. It represents the best of what makes a community!
