I am writing another one of my stories to let everyone know of the several funeral homes for families to know where they are.

Greenfield had, many years ago, a home owned by the Bulman family. I think it was located somewhere on Hope Street. Greenfield at present has four homes that are still in business and all of them offer wonderful services for those families that need one.

McCarthy’s on Bank Row is presently owned by the John Davis family and they are wonderful people to help everyone. They also have a second one located on Prospect Street in Turners Falls.

Walker Funeral Home, located at the beginning of High Street, is presently owned by Mrs. David Walker. Her husband was also a very wonderful person and gave families excellent service.

Smith-Kelleher home is located on Franklin Street and the family also has another one that has been in business many years in Shelburne Falls.

Kostanski’s home is located on Federal Street on the corner of Woodleigh Avenue. That home was founded by Henry Kostanski and still is a family-owned business. They also have a second one located at Kostanski’s Square in Turners Falls.

In Shelburne Falls, there is the Johnson Funeral Home and in South Deerfield, there is the Wrisley’s on Sugarloaf Street. In Orange, there is Witty’s on South Main Street and Kidder’s on Parker Avenue in Northfield.

There may be others that I have not written about and do not know of. But all of them do have people that work for them that do beautiful work for a family’s loved ones.

Just another memory of mine of years gone by….

Robert Bitzer, a frequent contributor, is a resident of Erving.
