GREENFIELD — To showcase its unique vendors, Innovintage Place is holding a grand opening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Since opening at the Web building at 76 Hope St. in December, the consignment store has grown to house 40 vendors, many of whom will be at their booths on Saturday. Several local farmers have also been invited to sell flower arrangements.

Most of the vendors sell restored or “upcycled” antique furniture and home decor, store owner Skye Wellington said; others repurpose cast-iron stoves into tables or wooden apple crates into shelves. Some vendors are artisans, selling handmade soap or jewelry.

The store emphasizes the unique style of its vendors, or “vintage innovators,” as Wellington calls them. Vendors design and decorate their floor space as they like.

“I like having a mix of styles in our antique booths,” Wellington said. “I think it works well when we’re contrasting with each other.”

Wellington is also an antique collector and trader. She explained that she imagined Innovintage Place as the kind of antique store that she, as an antiquer, would like to be in.

“I wanted it to be well curated,” she said. “I wanted it to be a special boutique-style store like this one.”

Innovintage Place won second place for its displays at Vintage Market Days of Vermont, a large indoor and outdoor antique market in Essex Junction, Vt.

“It was a pretty big accomplishment for us,” Wellington said.

Innovintage Place’s summer hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and by appointment other days.
