It was a Senior Night to remember for the three graduating seniors on the Turners Falls girls basketball team on Friday.

Taking on Mohawk Trail, the Thunder raced out to a 30-7 lead at the half before coming away with a 56-27 Franklin County League South win in Turners.

All three Turners seniors scored in the win, with Abbi Holloway and Steph Peterson each scoring 10 points while Morgan Dobias tossed in five points for the Thunder.

“Congrats to our three great seniors,” Turners coach Jim Cadran said. “It was a fitting way for them to go out. I’m hoping this won’t be their last home game here. They all played well tonight and they’re all really good kids. The program has gone up because of them.”

It was the Thunder defense that gave them their big lead. Turners held the Warriors without a basket in opening eight minutes to take a 16-0 lead into the second quarter.

The Thunder led 46-13 going into the fourth quarter when Mohawk Trail found its footing on offense, with Riley Giard scoring seven of her team-high 12 points in the final frame for the Warriors.

Taylor Greene finished with 10 points for Turners, with Raygan Pendriss and Tatianna Williams each adding seven points. Lily Spera scored five points while Madi Liimatainen tossed in two points in the victory.

Rachel Pease recorded six points, Grace Davenport tallied four points, Bella Pettengill had three points and Kaylin Sumner finished with two points for the Warriors.
