ORANGE — Three people were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after the Jeep they were in was struck head-on by a vehicle that crossed the center line on East Main Street.

Jeffrey L. Risatti, 58, of Orange, and his front-seat and backseat passengers were transported to Athol Memorial Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. Brenda Anderson, administrative assistant at the Orange Police Department, did not have an update on the victims’ condition on Friday.

According to a police report, George W. Patnode, 69, of Orange, was driving westbound in a Toyota on East Main Street when snowy road conditions caused him to lose control of the vehicle and collide into the Jeep that Risatti was driving in the eastbound lane. Anderson said Patnode was uninjured, and was issued a written warning for a marked lanes violation.

Anderson said an accident reconstruction team from the Massachusetts State Police responded to take measurements for an analysis.
