HAWLEY — Nomination papers for elected offices are now available and there will be seats without incumbents on the ballot, according to Town Clerk Pamela Shrimpton.

Selectman Robert MacLean will not be running for re-election; nor will Assessor Henry Eggert.

To be on the ballot, nomination papers must be returned to Shrimpton’s office by 5 p.m. on March 26. Also, please contact her if you are interested in any of these positions — whether as a candidate on the ballot or as a write-in. Incumbents seeking re-election are listed here:

Selectboard/Board of Heath; Assessor; Hawlemont School Committee, incumbent Courtney Ann Hoyt; Moderator (one-year term) Kirby “Lark” Thwing; Auditor (one-year term) Carla Clark; two seats on the Mohawk Trail Regional School District Committee, incumbent Suzanne Crawford, write-in candidate Courtney Ann Hoyt. All elected posts are for three-year terms unless otherwise noted.

Besides running for office, those who want to serve on town boards are asked to call Administrative Assistant Cass Nawrocki at 339-5518. Committees looking for interested members include: Planning Board, Conservation Committee, Council on Aging, Historical Commission, Communications Committee, Personnel Committee and Finance Committee. Nawrocki can put you in touch with someone who has served on the board you’re interested in, and tell you what’s involved.
