In a matchup between two of the top teams in the Pioneer North Division, Mahar Regional School and Frontier Regional School battled to a 0-0 draw in a girls’ soccer match on a windy Friday evening in South Deerfield.

Both teams generated strong scoring chances but neither of the two teams could cap off their chances to break the scoreless tie.

“Offensively, we created some really great chances in the second half,” said Frontier coach Phil Pittelli. “We hit the post once or twice and had a couple of shots that went just wide. Overall, I was really happy with how our team played on defense. Mahar is a really great team and we were able to hold possession and generate chances, but unfortunately we just couldn’t find the back of the net.”
