The Franklin Tech volleyball team is marching onto the Western Mass. Class C semifinals. 

The fourth-seeded Eagles hosted SICS in the quarters on Tuesday and made quick work of the No. 5 seed, pulling away with a 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 victory in Turners. 

Franklin Tech advances to play No. 1 Mount Greylock in the semis on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Williamstown. 

Lea Chapman smashed four aces, 10 kills and came up with two blocks in the win. Brooke Smith (one ace, six kills), Shelby O’Leary (three aces, one kill, six digs, 13 assists), Jenna Petrowicz (six digs, one assist, one block) and Emma Petersen (four aces, one kill, three digs) came up big for the Eagles in the win. 

Lenox 3, Athol 0 — The sixth-seeded Bears were unable to come up with the upset on the road, falling 25-16, 25-14, 26-24 to the No. 3 Millionaires on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Western Mass. Div. 3 tournament in Lenox. 

Anna Duquette led the way with six kills, Alma White tallied four kills, three assists and one ace, Laney Florentino finished with three kills while Gianna Vaillancourt put down one kill and dished three assists for Athol. 

Mount Greylock 3, Greenfield 0 — The No. 8 Green Wave weren’t able to go on the road and upset the top-seeded Mounties, falling 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 in Williamstown during the Class C quarterfinals on Tuesday. 

Mackensie Goncalves (three kills, two aces), Stella Verlander (two kills, two aces, two kills) and Julia Belville (two kills, one ace) led Greenfield in the loss.

Mohawk Trail 3, Mount Everett 0 — The third-seeded Warriors looked the part, with Palmer King leading the way with 16 assists and five kills to propel Mohawk Trail into the semis with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 sweep over the No. 6 Eagles in Buckland on Tuesday. 

The Warriors advance to face Northern League foe Turners on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the semis. 

Sophia Goodnow put down three aces and four kills, Emma Canaday finished with four assists and four kills while Abby Moffatt tallied five aces

Boys soccer

Lenox 4, Mahar 2 — The Senators fell behind 3-1 at the half and were unable to make up the difference, falling to the Millionaires in Lenox on Tuesday. 

Dom Whitman scored both Mahar goals, one assisted by Lucas Isrow. Tristan Gaj made seven saves while  Coltin Fausett added three saves in the loss.

Class B volleyball quarters

Frontier 3, Commerce 0 — The top-seeded R edhawks  rolled to a 3-0 sweep in the Class B quarterfinals, taking down No. 8 Commerce at Goodnow Gymnasium in South Deerfield.

Frontier (15-5) will host No. 4 Belchertown in the semifinal round on Wednesday  at 6:30 p.m.

Set scores were 25-16, 25-16, 25-18.

Caroline Deane racked up a match-high 16 kills, and Gabby Adams added six kills for the Hawks. Setter Allie Pierce registered 26 assists, while the defense received seven digs from Adams.

Frontier was dominant at the service line, totaling 21 aces on the night.
