Second Saturday Health Series: Join Bree as she discusses the best foods to eat for preventing and maintaining your overall health on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the YMCA Social Room. Free and open to everyone.

Sunday Fundays: Sundays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Family swim, pool, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Fit family workout, gym, 3 to 3:45 p.m. Open gymnastics, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Open gym games, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Free for Y family members. Day pass required for all other families.

Learn to Dance: Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. East Coast Swing, 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Adams Room. Free for Y members; $5 per person for non-members. Learn a new dance or practice a dance you already know. Come with a partner or by yourself. A leader and follower will be present to show you the ropes.

Women’s Self-Defense Class: Learn how to be more aware of your surroundings, use your voice in defense, avoid becoming a victim, and ways to make your environment safer. Followed by hands-on partner and pad work using simple, easy to use self-defense techniques. Learn how to escape from grabs, chokes, etc. Techniques are specifically geared toward using women’s strengths to our advantage. Bring water, comfortable clothes and sneakers. Teen Strength and Conditioning: Children 13 years and older will learn the basic techniques of proper strength and conditioning. Fridays, 6 to 7 p.m. No cost for Y members. Register at the Welcome Center. Contact Jayne at jtrosin@ymcaingreenfield.org for details.

Senior Health Fair: The Oct. 23 annual event is for participants (ages 60 and up) to have their fitness abilities tested. Free blood pressure screenings, local vendors, free nutritionist sessions, Walgreens flu clinic and more. Free lunch and talk with Baystate Franklin Medical Center at noon about “Falls: Staying on your Feet.” Register at the Welcome Center. Co-sponsored by the YMCA and Baystate Franklin.
