Holiday Gifts: Gift certificates and forest green Greenfield Recreation Department sweatshirts are available for purchase at the 20 Sanderson St. office. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and can be used for all programs the Recreation Department offers as well as season passes to the swimming area. Sweatshirts are available in adult small to 2XL for $30.

Pee Wee Basketball: Registration for children in kindergarten to second grade is now open. Learn the fundamentals of the game through skill-building drills and scrimmages. Thursday nights, Jan. 9 through March 5. $35 for residents, $45 for non-residents. The registration deadline is Jan. 2. An additional $5 late fee will be added for all late registrations.

Travel Basketball: Spots are still open in the grades three and four and grades five and six basketball programs. Practices begin the week of Dec. 3. Games start in January. Practices are held twice a week on a rotating schedule. After-deadline registration is $65 for residents, $75 for non-residents. The Greenfield Recreation Department is also seeking a coach for the grades five and six team.

Skiing & Snowboarding: Sign-ups are due Dec. 2. Four Saturdays in January on the slopes of Berkshire East. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the mountain. For ages 8 and older. Lift tickets for residents are $160 for youth, $180 for adults for four days of skiing or snowboarding, with additional fees for lessons and rentals. An additional $5 late fee will be assessed for all late registrations.

Parking Meter Painting: Meters will be available to paint over the course of three days, Jan. 14 to 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 20 Sanderson St. Artists ages 16 and up may work independently, and younger children can participate with the guidance of an adult partner. Canvasses will also be provided for young artists interested in creating an independent masterpiece. Registration is free, but register before Jan. 7. Space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

February Break Vacation Week: A week of activities, games and outdoor fun for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. This program is at the Youth Center, 20 Sanderson St., from Tuesday, Feb. 18 to Friday, Feb. 21. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early and late care available. Walking field trips to Beacon Field for sledding, skating and snow fun. Lunch, an afternoon snack and drink must be sent with each child. A morning snack is provided. Children must bring appropriate winter clothing (boots, hats, gloves, etc). $120 for residents, $130 for non-residents. Additional fees for early and late care. Registration deadline is Feb. 4. A $25 late fee will be assessed for all late registrations.
