Civics Trivia Night set for Oct. 4GREENFIELD — The League of Women Voters of Franklin County, non-partisan political organization, is hosting its third annual Civics Trivia Night on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Greenfield Elks Lodge.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the trivia game starting at 7:30. Questions will involve a variety of civics-related topics, from political movies to current affairs, according to a League of Women Voters press release.
This year’s Quizmasters are state Sen. Jo Comerford, D-Northampton, and Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernández, president of Greenfield Community College.
“Our trivia night fundraisers are fun exercises in community-building, with a competitive edge,” said Marie Gauthier, president of the League of Women Voters of Franklin County. “They also help fund league educational events as well as our voter registration and outreach efforts. We have a lot in store, so we’re hoping for another great turnout.”
The trivia night will raise money for the league to continue conducting forums on various policy issues and informational events, help create a fund to subsidize membership dues, and eventually create a scholarship fund for local high school students, the release states.
Admission is $10 per person, with teams of up to eight people allowed. A cash bar will be available. There will be cash prizes, complimentary snacks, and the evening will close with a gift basket raffle.
