8:57 a.m. — Hypodermic needle found near the parking garage on Olive Street.

9:22 a.m. — Hypodermic needle found near Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center on Main Street.

Friday, Sept. 16

5:24 a.m. — George Wisdom Yarns Jr., 53, of Springfield, was arrested at the ServiceNet shelter on Wells Street for assault with a dangerous weapon and trespassing. This arrest was the result of a report of suspicious activity.

11:50 a.m. — Vandalism reported at Mattress Outlet on Main Street.

Saturday, Sept. 17

3:40 p.m. — Wires down near Greenfield Cooperative Bank’s lending center on Federal Street.

Saturday, Sept. 24

3:42 a.m. — Jared J. Haselton, 34, of Chapman Street in Greenfield, was arrested at the intersection of Davis Street and Forest Avenue for OUI-liquor over .08% (second offense), possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and carrying a dangerous weapon. This arrest was the result of a traffic stop.

9:27 a.m. — Illegal dumping reported on the Interstate 91 overpass on Shelburne Road.

Sunday, Sept. 25

5:12 p.m. — James G. Turner, 50, of Keene, New Hampshire, was arrested at McDonald’s on the Mohawk Trail for trafficking in cocaine, 200 grams or more, and possession of a Class B drug.
