LAVA Center starting Literary Open Bar event

GREENFIELD — The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. is presenting a new event series called the Literary Open Bar for those who enjoy reading and writing.

In this a loosely formatted discussion group, participants can read their own or another author’s work of any genre, discuss authors and their work, and inspire the work of those in attendance.

The Literary Open Bar will be moderated by local author Michael Travisano.

Meetings will take place at The LAVA Center on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month starting Oct. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m.

National Voter Registration Day is Sept. 28

GREENFIELD — Voter registration forms can be picked up at the Greenfield Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 28, which is National Voter Registration Day.

National Voter Registration Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Tuesday of September, according to a Greenfield Public Library press release. First celebrated in 2012, it is a nonpartisan civic holiday.

The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 2 Greenfield election is Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Moose Lodge serving pork chops

GREENFIELD — The Moose Lodge at 20 School St. will serve breaded pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes with a salad, roll and dessert Monday from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Meals cost $10.

Dine-in and takeout options are available, and meals can be reserved by calling the Moose Lodge at 413-773-9030. Meals are open to members and qualified guests.
