Beetle 7 show set for Nov. 16

GREENFIELD — The LAVA Center at 324 Main St. will present Beetle 7, its house band led by local musician Steve Koziol, on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Beetle 7 is an ambient space music experience with Joel Paxton (guitar), Kevin Smith (tuba), Steve Koziol (alto saxophone, Baglama) and Leo Hwang (theremin, guitar).

A $3 to $5 donation is suggested.

Handmade gifts sale to benefit Baystate Franklin patient services

GREENFIELD — Kathy’s Creative Creations will sell handmade gifts in the main lobby at Baystate Franklin Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Items for sale will include jewelry, shawls, purses and holiday items.

Attendees can pay using cash or personal checks, or hospital employees can pay be payroll deduction. Money raised will benefit patient services at Baystate Franklin.

LAVA Center to host Third Tuesday Greenfield Word

GREENFIELD — The Third Tuesday Greenfield Word, a literary series organized by Paul Richmond and Human Error Publishing, will be held at The LAVA Center, 324 Main St., on Nov. 21. Doors open at 7 p.m., open mic starts at 7:30 and featured authors start at 8:30.

Dec. 5: Holiday Cookie Exchange

GREENFIELD — Residents can sign up to bring three to four dozen cookies, along with the recipe, to share at the Holiday Cookie Exchange. The event will be held at the Greenfield Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Walk with a Doc program heads to YMCA

GREENFIELD — Dr. John Romano of Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s family medicine program will continue the Walk with a Doc program at Franklin County’s YMCA on Main Street this winter.

The group, which began this summer, will meet in the main entrance lobby between 5:50 and 6 p.m. to walk to the Fit Life Room together, where people will get some exercise, learn about health and meet new people from 6 to 7 p.m. once a month.

The group will meet the first Tuesday of each month beginning Dec. 5. It will also meet Jan. 2, Feb. 6 and March 5 for gentle exercise.
