Nov. 13: ‘Bach’s Lunch’ concert planned at church

GREENFIELD — The next concert in the “Bach’s Lunch” series at the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew, located at 8 Church St., will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 12:15 p.m.

Pianist Chonghyo Shin is returning with a new program of music by Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Albéniz, Granados and Debussy. She most recently performed a “Bach’s Lunch” concert in June.

Shin teaches piano at Amherst College and the Brattleboro Music Center. She is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and has performed as a soloist with the Boston Pops and the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is free. Light refreshments will be provided and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch to eat during the concert.

‘Pride of Place: Picturesque Franklin County’ coming to hospital lobby

GREENFIELD — The gift shop at Baystate Franklin Medical Center will sponsor “Pride of Place: Picturesque Franklin County” in the hospital’s main lobby on Friday, Nov. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature photo notecards with packets available for every Franklin County town; theme-based packets featuring subjects such as covered bridges, waterways, country roads and the four seasons; 11-by-14-inch scenic prints; and a card rack displaying single notecards.

Cash, credit cards, Venmo and checks will be accepted, or hospital employees can opt to pay via payroll deduction. Proceeds benefit patients and services at the hospital.
