GREENFIELD — LifePath’s nutritionist Bi-sek Hsiao will share information about the signs of malnutrition, how to prevent malnutrition, eating a healthy diet, healthy snacks and more at the Greenfield Senior Center on Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. Individual malnutrition risk screenings will also be offered.
One out of two older adults are at risk for malnutrition. Malnutrition often leads to decreased immune system function, poor wound healing, falls and fractures, digestive issues, irritability, depression, decreased quality of life, and longer hospital and rehabilitation stays.
GREENFIELD — To celebrate 45 years of small business development through one-on-one coaching and flexible financing, the Franklin County Community Development Cooperation will host a block party on Thursday, June 6, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 324 Wells St.
There will be music and concert-ticket giveaways from WRSI. The Ginger Love Cafe food truck will provide Filipino street food and Mexirico will serve limbers, a frozen dessert that originated in Puerto Rico. Freedom Street Brewing and Stout Pigeon Coffee will provide beverages.

GREENFIELD — Participants can learn hands-only CPR from the American Red Cross during a free program at the Greenfield Senior Center on Friday, June 7, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
The primary way of teaching this CPR technique is a 30-minute skill session. Participants learn how to check for consciousness, call 911 (or the local emergency number) and give chest compressions. CPR training certification is not provided through this course.

GREENFIELD — Herbalist Patti Williams will present “Herbs for Sleep” at the Greenfield Senior Center on Tuesday, June 11, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
This workshop will focus on useful herbs for preparing to sleep, getting to sleep and staying asleep. The discussion will also cover the importance of deep rest and relaxation as it relates to physical, psychological and spiritual health. Instructional handouts will be provided for making your own remedies at home and a variety of herbal products will be available for purchase.

GREENFIELD — Drop in and work on crafts in a group setting at the Greenfield Senior Center on Monday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Attendees can bring their own projects to work on and/or share materials with others.
Space is limited to 12. Greenfield Senior Center membership (free) is required.
GREENFIELD — Join Mayor Ginny Desorgher for a one-hour walk starting at the Greenfield Senior Center, 35 Pleasant St., followed by light refreshments, on Friday, June 21. The walk leaves at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine.
Advance registration and Senior Center membership are not required for this free event.
WEST HAVEN, Conn. — Greenfield resident Delaney Archer, a student in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New Haven, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Delaney is studying to earn a bachelor’s degree in English.
