GREENFIELD — Fire hose destroyed during a recent structure fire can now be replaced on the dime of a local club.

The Greenfield Moose Lodge donated $400 — the cost of replacing two lengths of hose — to the Greenfield Fire Department Gift Account.

The hose was damaged during the response to a blaze at 366 Deerfield St. on June 3.

Greenfield Moose Lodge Governor Isaac Mass said the lodge jumped into action as soon as members heard of the need and made the donation.

The lodge presented the check along with 18 Tommy Moose Dolls to the chief and five members of the Greenfield Fire Department on Saturday at a dinner dance. The Tommy Moose dolls are designed for use by emergency responders coming in contact with children in traumatic situations.
