NORTHFIELD — The Trinitarian Congregational Church’s second annual golf tournament will be on Saturday at the Northfield Golf Club.

The format is a four-person scramble across the 18-hole course. The first-place team wins a foursome at Crumpin Fox in Bernardston. There will be $50-cash prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin for men’s and women’s classes. There will also be a $5,000 hole-in-one prize, plus three other $500 hole-in-one prizes.

Throughout the day there will be raffles for prizes like a garden bench, birdhouses, gift baskets and gift certificates.

The day starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday with continental breakfast and day-of registration. The tournament starts at 8:30. It will be followed by a chicken barbecue. Those not competing in the tournament can join the barbecue for $10.

Gail Beddard, one of the people organizing the tournament for the church, said that 10 teams have registered so far, but she expects a few more by Saturday. Last year, when the church first ran this fundraiser, she said there were 10 teams, and the fundraiser was more successful than organizers had expected.
