The Botanic Garden of Smith College

Fall Chrysanthemum Show: Through Sunday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays. The show has been a popular college and community tradition since the early 1900s, and showcases the hybridizing experiments of the horticulture class. Pelham Historical Society

“New England Vegetables: 275 Years”: Tuesday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m. Learn about the varieties of vegetables grown in New England since 1743 when Pelham was incorporated, many of which might be unfamiliar today. Ruth DiBuono, coordinator of horticulture at Old Sturbridge Village, will explain how vegetables have changed over the years both in how they were valued and preserved, as well as in the actual varieties used. Participants are welcome to bring their favorite vegetable seeds to share and exchange. Ramsdell Room of the Pelham Library, 2 South Valley Road, Pelham.
