GREENFIELD — Parents, guardians and staff members are invited to shoot the breeze and shoot some hoops with Greenfield High School Principal Karin Patenaude on Wednesday.

While playing basketball at the gym on the second floor of the Greenfield YMCA from 6 to 7 p.m., Patenaude hopes attendees will get to know her outside of school.

“Her goal is to provide opportunities for parents/guardians who may be hesitant to reach out to her, or other school staff, to feel comfortable talking with her,” a Greenfield High School press release reads. “This is also a great opportunity to check out the facilities and programs at the Y. Other community resource information for parents and families will be available.”

There will be free child care available, and the rock wall will be open for those interested. No athletic experience is required.

Free parking is available in the lot behind the YMCA. There are also a few limited mobility parking spots available in front of the building, and free parking on Main Street and in the municipal lot next to the library.

This is the second in a series of events where parents and guardians can meet with Patenaude “in a relaxed, fun setting,” according to the press release. The first event was a Walk and Talk in early October. Ideas for future locations include: local coffee shops, housing complexes, the Community Health Center of Franklin County and the Greenfield Public Library.
