Registration for summer session classes and programs offered by Franklin County’s YMCA is now open. There are a variety of youth swimming and gymnastics lessons, as well as adult water fitness classes. Visit the YMCA’s Welcome Center or your-y.org for more information.

“Fun in the Sun” Gymnastics Showcase: Saturday, June 17, at 2:30 p.m. in the Gymnastics Center. $5 per spectator; current gymnasts and children under 5 are admitted for free. Proceeds will benefit the gymnastics program and Tumbling Tigers gymnastics team.

Young Adult Summer Memberships: All college students who are home for the summer can save 20% on their YMCA gym membership. If you are a new young adult member, the YMCA will also waive the joiner’s fee — a savings of $25. Students need to provide a valid student ID and proof of current full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credits). Stop by the YMCA’s Welcome Center or call 413-773-3646 to sign up.

Year-Long Class for Prediabetics: A trained lifestyle coach will introduce topics in a small classroom setting and encourage participants as they explore how healthy eating, physical activity and behavior changes can benefit their health while reducing the onset of Type 2 diabetes. YMCA membership is included in the program fee. Scholarships may apply. Classes will take place on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. starting in June. For more information, call or email Stacie Baumann at 413-773-3646, ext. 449 or sbaumann@your-y.org.

Calling All Runners and Joggers: Thursday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Y’s Social Room. Join Greenfield native Joe Martino as he makes the characters in his book, “On the Run,” come alive. With special guests, coach Pete Conway, Frank McDonald and other surprises. Free.
