GREENFIELD — Pitchers Hannah Gilbert and Gloria McDonald combined for 25 strikeouts on Wednesday night, but Gilbert’s Menace team notched an 11-7 win over McDonald’s Magic squad in a Franklin County Summer Softball League contest at Murphy Park.

Gilbert struck out 14 in 5 1/3 innings of work for Menace before Anna Bucala came on to finish it up with four strikeouts.

McDonald struck out 11 in 6 1/3 innings, and Bianca Reynolds got the final two outs for Magic.

Offensively, Bucala’s two hits and three runs helped propel Menace to victory. Gilbert and Kylee Gamache were both 2-for-3 with a combined three RBIs and five runs scored, while Cordelia Guerin, Lindsey Taylor and Stephanie Barton all had a hit and an RBI.

McDonald and Addie Rotkiewicz had hits for the Magic, while Meghan Collins and Mackensie Goncalves both drove in a run.

Menace led 6-0 into the bottom of the fourth inning and 9-2 into the bottom of the sixth before the Magic clawed back with four in the frame.

Wolfpack 17, Flyers 2 – A 12-run top of the first inning powered the Wolfpack to a 17-2 win over the Flyers on Wednesday at Murphy Park.

Riley Giard went two innings for the Wolfpack, striking out two, before Ryanne Dubay notched six strikeouts in three innings of relief.

Giard clubbed a home run and drove in three runs at the plate, while Ryanne Dubay and Josie Dubay each had two hits for the Pack.

Jordyn Placzek and Katy Lengieza had two hits apiece to pace the Flyers, and pitcher Adelyn Wood struck out right.
