SHELBURNE FALLS — The Foxtown Diner, a community fixture on Bridge Street for decades, is under new management and is seeking new cooks and wait staff.

The grand reopening is “coming soon,” according to a sign posted in the restaurant’s window. However, the new management, reached at the phone number posted on the sign, declined to comment further at this time.

The Foxtown Diner was previously owned by Judy Grader, who recently sold the building.

“I owned it for 10 years and decided to sell,” Grader wrote in an email. “(It’s) just time to move on.”

Grader had worked at the restaurant for 11 years before purchasing it. Under her ownership, the name was changed from the Foxtown Coffee Shop to the Foxtown Diner to distinguish it from other local coffeehouses and to indicate that it served full meals.

Grader said in her email she is hoping to focus more of her time on family instead of spending many hours in the restaurant each week.

“I just recently got married and the diner takes up so much of my time and energy,” Grader wrote, “that now I want to focus on family.”
