GREENFIELD — The former Family Dollar store in the Big Y plaza is expected to reopen as a Dollar General by late fall.
Dollar General acquired the store at 10 Colrain Road as part of the company’s asset acquisition from Dollar Express LLC, according to a news release from the company. After closing this spring, it will reopen with a new layout and expanded offerings by late fall.
The store is expected to employee six to 10 people, according to the release.
Dollar General sells name-brand and private brand merchandise such as health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal items and basic clothing. The company also sells an assortment of packaged foods, as well as some refrigerated foods and frozen foods.
