ORANGE — Fisher Hill School is holding kindergarten registration for the upcoming school year during February school vacation.

Sign up sessions will be held three mornings in a row from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Thursday, Feb. 22. All children from Orange who will be 5 years old by Aug. 31 are eligible for enrollment, according to a news statement from the Fisher Hill School.

Parents and legal guardians will be asked to complete both paper and computer-based forms at the Dexter Street School. Those who wish to sign up will also be required to bring this documentation for their child: a birth certificate; proof of legal guardianship for guardians; proof of residency such as a gas, electric or cable bill, lease agreement, or landline telephone bill; proof of screening for lead poisoning.

A record of immunizations against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, MMR, polio, chickenpox varicella and Hepatitis B is also required per state law. Parents or guardians are also required to give proof of a physical examination by a physician, which can be given any time before the beginning of school or within the last year.

Children won’t be able to begin school until all documentation has been provided, and enrollment has been completed. Those who currently attend preschool at Fisher Hill School don’t need to register for kindergarten, but will need to update documentation. There’s no school choice for kindergarten students in Orange.

Anyone who has concerns about their child’s development is encouraged to call the school’s Special Education Office at 978-544-6980.
