Update: DA’s office says driver faces charges in Erving fatal crash

ERVING — A Concord man is expected to be arraigned Monday in Orange District Court on several charges — including leaving the scene of an accident and receiving a stolen vehicle — in connection with a fatal collision Saturday morning, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

Mary Carey, communications director for the DA’s office, identified the victim as Phillip A. Reed​, 68, of Hinsdale, N.H. The two-car collision happened around 6:45 a.m. on Route 63 in Erving. 

Carey said Andrej Oljaca, 19, of Concord, was arrested and placed in custody. He is expected to face these charges: motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation; leaving the scene of personal injury and death; leaving the scene of property damage; receiving a stolen motor vehicle; use of a motor vehicle without authority; and a civil infraction of marked lanes violation.​

Erving Police and Massachusetts State Police, including the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are investigating the incident. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of the man’s death.
