Bulletin board: Amherst flag football season in full swing

Jameson Dion found Shane Robles for a touchdown in the second quarter and that stood as the game-winner, as J&J defeated the Dope Boyz, 6-0, in an Amherst Flag Football League contest on Wednesday. 

Matt Peters had an interception, Conor Malloy had two sacks while Jack Nagy and Chet Kubetin each had a sack in the win. Dominick Whitley played well at quarterback while Antonio Colon Jr. had an interception in the loss. 

Later, the Tarheel beat Elm, 14-6, behind two interceptions from Kasheef Sheppard. 

Sheppard lateraled to Uno Mahan on one of the picks and Mahan raced in for a score while Patris Medina ran in the game-winning score. Medina also had an intercpetion in the win while Alexis Arroyo had a sack. 

Pat Viencek found Trent Harris for Elm’s lone score. Luis Ramos had two sacks in the loss.

Petrin Alumni Game

The 31st annual David M. Petrin Alumni Hockey Game, originally scheduled for Feb. 10, has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb. 17th, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Collins-Moylan Arena in Greenfield. The game will feature Greenfield High School and Green Wave alumni.

All GHS and Green Wave hockey alumni are welcome to play, with roster spots still available. Rosters are limited to 30 skaters and two goalies. Interested alumni should call Larry Petrin (413-773-9250) and leave their name, telephone number and year of graduation. 

There will be a raffle held, with all proceeds going to benefit the David M. Petrin Memorial Scholarship, awarded each spring to Greenfield High School graduates. For more information or learn how to donate, please contact any member of the Petrin family.
