Bulletin board: Frontier boys volleyball hosting car wash on Sunday

The defending Western Mass. champion Frontier boys volleyball team will be holding a car wash fundraiser on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the All States Asphalt office on Route 116 in Sunderland (112 Amherst Rd).

Softball

GGSL

Rian Farrell struck out five and got the win while Kaylin Sevoian slapped a triple and Hannah Lunt also had a hit to lift Camelot Carpet Cleaners to an 18-15 win over Descavich Plumbing on Thursday.

Kalina Pease made her debut on the mound with a solid effort for Descavich, while Kendra Steiner smacked a two-run home run and Chloe and Bailey Cusson each registered hits.

• Elsewhere, Lexi Hawkins and Lenyx White went 2-for-3 and Jaelyn Boliski and Raine Wonsey each had a hit to help Triton get past Pipione’s, 15-6.

Wonsey, Boliski and Lindsey Hawkins had nine strikeouts combined on the mound.

Deshiana Davis and Esme Sautter contributed with hits for Pipione’s, and Sammi Suhl pitched a good game with six strikeouts.

Athol 18, Mahar 15 — Ava Adams made an almost impossible pop fly catch from behind the plate for Athol, while Celia Fox also made a nice catch in center field and Skyla Basso had a stellar game at shortstop.

Youth baseball

Newt Guilbault

Julian Bowden-Smith was 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, while Tyler Newton had two hits and an RBI and Ryan Newton also had a hit to help Booska’s Flooring to a 7-2 win over Pipione’s on Friday.

Pipione’s Gabe Barber and Liam Kerivan each had a hit, and Kerivan tossed a complete game, striking out 12.

• Elsewhere, Silas Lively and Austin Platek had two hits each and Charlie Tyler and Max Myers both added a hit and a pair of RBIs to help St. Stans to a 12-0 win over the Elks.

Malcolm Tyler and Platek combined for the win allowing only one hit and striking out eight, while Landon Ritter had a single and played a great defensive game for the Elks. Teammates Liam Fox, Owen Martineau and Sammy Choleva had two stolen bases each.

Everett Eichorn stuck out the first six batters to help Greenfield Savings Bank to a 9-4 win over Pipione’s on Thursday. Spencer Towne (3-for- 3 with two triples and a double) paced the offense.

In action Wednesday, Trevor Lyons hit his first home run to help GSB to an 11-6 win over St. Stan’s.

GMLB

Brantley Curtis and Ben Woodard each had two hits, and a great all around game from Declan Thompson propelled Pioneer Valley Tire to a 12-3 win over Bobby C’s DJ Service on Friday at Lunt Field.

Bobby C’s William Simanski and Ian Degan played well, and Anthony Bergstrom also put the ball in play for the club.

In other action, Casey Burke got the win and Bryce Zraunig and Bodie Burke each had a double and single as Gilmore and Farrell defeated Maniatty’s, 5-2.

Carter Malouin, Asa Bouchard and Jakob George all had hits for G & F.

Ethan Burgh homered for Maniatty’s, while Amasa Shippee and Osiah Ballard also had hits.

• Ben Shivone had two hits, while Aaron Turner doubled and Parker Gerry also had a hit to help Denny’s Pantry edge Rotary Club, 5-3, on Thursday.

Gerry and Shivone handled the pitching for Denny’s, while Jackson Puchalski pitched for Rotary. Hitting for Rotary were Christian Powell, Fred Burnap and Brady Selivanoff.

Frontier Youth

Hadley/Liquors 44 defeated Deerfield/PVMA 3-2.

Deerfield/PVYMA kept it close with Dylan Dedinas pitching three solid innings and five strikeouts in a 3-2 loss to Hadley Liquors on Friday.

Riley Rappe pitched two innings with five strikeouts and recorded another out hustling from the mound to first base with a running crossbody catch. Brayden O’Neil had an unassisted double play and Anders Bout also had a nice hit.
