Bulletin Board: Noga, Bernard tops in Elks League

Week 6 of the Greenfield Elks League at the Country Club of Greenfield came to a close, with Gary Noga and Randy Bernard currently in first place with 29 points. 

Joe Ruggeri and Mike Ruggeri are in second with 28 points while Frank McDonald and Art Belanger are in third with 27.5 points. Mike Ruggeri won closest to the pin on No. 2 while Mike Larabee won it on No. 5. 

Youth softball


Lindsey Hawkins smashed four hits while Kinsley Bergeron and Emma Prasol each had three hits in Greenfield Elks’ 9-3 win over Franklin First Credit Union in a Nippers contest on Friday. 

Dani Zraunig had four hits, Samantha Rider had three hits and Shaye Tyler had two hits for Franklin First. 

Tri-County League

Ryleigh Gordon had a double and three RBIs, while Nevaeh Shippa added a hit and an RBI to lift the Northfield Cougars to a 20-15 win over the Hinsdale Fillies in Tri-County League play on Thursday. 

Kalyn Barry started in the circle and recorded a strikeout for Northfield, while Greta Lewis notched four strikeouts in her time pitching. Abigail Fortier made a great play from center field, throwing to Ryleigh Goodwin at second base for a force out.

Youth baseball


Adrian Lopez knocked four hits, Brock Puchalski had three hits including a double and Quincy Audet hit safely to lead Pioneer Valley Tire to a 16-4 win over Liberty Tax on Friday in a AA contest. 

Corbin Pease tallied three hits while Naliyya Monserrate and Angel Monserrate Jr. each had two hits for Liberty Tax. 

Bobby C 13, Fitzgerald 3 (Friday)

Bobby C: Tommy Donahoe (hit), Gabe Tidlund (hit), Tommy Shivone (hit), Everett Turner (hit), Mickey Locke (hit)

Fitzgerald: Derick Chaisson (hit), Lyla Bureck (hit), Blake White (hit)

Newt Guilbault

Booska’s 10, Pipione’s 1 (Friday)

Booska’s: Asa Stebbins (hit, RBI), Brayden Archambault (hit, RBI), Davis Burnett (hit, RBI)

Booska’s 23, St. Stan’s 10 (Thursday)

Booska’s: Jaiden Lapointe (2 2B, 3B, HR, 3 RBI), Tyle r Newton (1B, 3B, 3 RBI), Julian Bowden-Smith (hit, RBI)

St. Stan’s: Malcolm Tyler (hit), Silas Lively (4 strikeouts)

Franklin County Babe Ruth

There are additional sign-ups for the 54th season of the Franklin County Babe Ruth League. All games are played at Abercrombie Field in Greenfield. Players can be between the ages of 13-15, or can turn 16 after January 1, while 12-year-olds seeking experience on a full-size diamond  are also eligible to play.

New dates are: June 6  and 8 from 5:30-7 p.m., and June 11 from 10 a.m.-noon at Abercrombie Field.
