After over a year and a half off from competition due to COVID-19, former Frontier Regional standout and 2020 PVIAC alpine ski champion Coriann Delaney returned to the slopes this month with the UMass alpine ski team.

Delaney and the UMass team competed at the Clarkson FIS Carnival at Whiteface Mountain (N.Y.) over the weekend. She was 27th in Saturday’s GS race with a time of 1:00.23, followed up a 36th-place performance in Friday’s race. St. Lawrence’s Paige Doyle won the race on Saturday (53.47 seconds) while Castleton’s Lena Soehnle was Friday’s winner (54.48).

The previous weekend, Delaney was the fastest UMass skier down the mountain at the Babson College Carnival held in brutally cold conditions at Proctor Ski Area in Andover, N.H.
