Bulletin Board: Greenfield Tennis Association is hosting its 2023 Greenfield Clay Courts Preservation Benefit and Tournament on Saturday

The Greenfield Tennis Association is hosting its 2023 Greenfield Clay Courts Preservation Benefit and Tournament on Saturday at the clay courts at Beacon and Highland.  

The tournament is a doubles format that is open to all. Players enter the tournament as a single person with the doubles partner randomly selected and will change throughout the morning with each round. All proceeds to go the maintenance of the courts. 

Team and court assignments will begin at 9:15 with play getting underway at 9:30. Players do not have to stay for the entire event. Entry fee is $10 for GTA members and $15 for non members. For questions call Larry Klein at 413-824-8129.

Weston Sibley and Shea Nicholas each cracked four hits and scored three runs in Martins Farm’s 11-7 win over Gruber and Tripp. 

Zach Bensen and Asher Tripp each had five hits for Gruber and Tripp. 

■ Joseph Gardner and Ben Trombley pitched, Quest Peterson tripled while Joseph Gardner, Kent Warner and Trombley hit safely in Denny’s 12-6 win over Bobby C’s on Monday in a AAA contest. 

Eli Skinder tripled and Emerson Maxam doubled for Bobby C’s.

• In AA action on Monday Rowan Hickey knocked four hits, one a double, and Jacolby Dyer had four hits and pitched a scoreless inning in Ginger Cat Sealcoating’s 13-0 win over Liberty Tax. 

EJ Provost singled and doubled while JJ Grader had two hits for Liberty Tax. 

Newt Guilbault

Malachi Bouchard struck out 11 while Liam Fox and Tyler Varilly each stole four bases in the Elks’ 5-5 tie with Pipione’s Sport Shop on Monday. 

Spencer Towne had an inside-the-park home run, Liam Kerrivan struck out seven and Jaxson Yates had a pair of strikeouts for Pipione’s.

Bailey Sibley tallied four hits, Clara Vandoren knocked three hits while Eleanor Jones knocked in the game-winner in Precision Driving’s 8-7 win over the Elks in a Nippers contest on Monday. 

Parker Gebo-Lutenegger and Emma Tuttle each had three hits for the Elks. 

Tri-County

Molly Kunkle struck out five, Hannah Squires struck out nine and added two triples and a single at the plate while Mayven Smith doubled to bring in two runs in Vernon Red’s 5-2 playoff win over the Northfield Cougars on Monday. 

Evy Lewis struck out seven, Ryleigh Goodwin struck out one and had a hit and an RBI while Josephine Hescock and Olivia Peduzzi played well in the field for the Cougars.
