
The 21st-seeded Frontier girls tennis team gave No. 12 Lenox a run for its money on Wednesday in the MIAA Division 4 Round of 32.
The Redhawks earned wins in both doubles matches but were unable to steal a set in singles as the Millionaires advanced to the Round of 16 with a 3-2 victory in Lenox.
Frontier closed its season with a 14-7 record.
Esther Ehle and Aylen Shaw secured a 6-3, 6-4 triumph in No. 1 doubles while Brooke Charest and Hailey Fernandez battled to a 2-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory in No. 2 doubles for the Redhawks.
In singles, Frontier was unable to earn more than two games in a set against a tough Lenox lineup.

Freedom Credit Union 3, Pipione’s Sport Shop 0 — Minka Niedzwiedz, Adeline Ebbighausen and Charlotte Facey each had two hits in Freedom’s victory Wednesday.

Gilmore and Farrell 10, Camelot Carper Cleaners 8 — Aurora Reynolds and Kinsley Bergeron both had two hits while Kamryn Beck, Elyse Reardon and Hannah Lunt had a hit in Gilmore’s win Tuesday.
Amy VanDoren had two hits while Hayden Sadler and Kendall Bernard hit safely in the loss.

Pioneer Valley Tire 12, Rotary 6 — Mason Facey pitched, Parker Smith-LeClair singled and doubled while Laurence Shields drove in three in Pioneer Valley’s win Tuesday.
Solomon O’Neil Evans knocked three hits, Ellis Hayman singled and doubled while Treyvon Ndissi drove in two for Rotary.

Liberty Tax Sharks 20, Hot L 10 — Trevor Thomas had five hits and two RBIs while Che Christi and Jacob Christi both had four hits in the Sharks’ win Tuesday.
Bretty Turban and Josh Lashway had three hits and Megan Pendleton had two hits in the loss.
RG Penfield 19, Common Ground Fitness 3 — Damon Blake, Duston Olson and Justin Nash each had four hits in RG Penfield’s win Tuesday.
Dave Mason had two hits in the loss.
Demers sinks hole-in-one
Rodney Demers recorded his second career hole-in-one on Monday at Thomas Memorial, doing so on Hole No. 7 with an eight iron.

Sally Malloy and Jenn Murphy tied for the low gross of 45 in the Thomas Women’s League at Thomas Memorial Wednesday.
MaryEllen Fydenkevez carded the low net (29) while Joanne Whiteman won closest to the pin on No. 7 (six feet).
Knights of Columbus
Steve Russo was the winner (+10) and Ray Godwin took second (+7) in the Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial Wednesday.
Rick Greene won closest to the pin on No. 7 (six feet, three inches) and Bill Roussel won it on No. 9 (13-4). Pete McDonough, Ron Lenois, Darren Lenois and Frank Penny won skins while John O’Reilly, Frank Penny, Darren Lenois and Ron Lenois shot the low gross (38).
