The Massachusetts Division 1 State Ultimate Tournament took place on Saturday and Sunday in Northampton, with the Four Rivers boys earning second place. 

On Saturday, the Otters knocked off Northampton (13-8), Sharon (13-7) and Masconomet (12-0) to go into Sunday’s winners bracket. 

To open Sunday, Four Rivers beat Newton North (13-3) to advance to the semifinals, where it knocked off Lexington in a close game. 

In the championship game, Arlington defeated the Otters, 11-9. 

Seniors Caleb Bird-Richards, Sam Whitney, Isaiah Goleman, as well as Cooper Whitney, each scored over ten points in the tournament. 

Russell Herbert, Kolin Broderick and Atticus Peters each contributed with assists. 

Baseball

GMLB

Greenfield Minor League Baseball held its All-Star games on Sunday, with the National League earning a 15-8 win over the American League in AAA action.

Toby Campbell struck out three, Owen Campbell struck out two, Solomon Oniel-Evens and Elijah Lawler each had three hits while Jovanni Borgos hit a home run for the National League. 

Wyatt Wilkins and Benjamin Trombley pitched and each struck out one, Elias Tripp cracked two hits while Braith Brothers and Damien Shields hit safely for the American League. 

In the AA All-Star Game the American League beat the National League, 14-4, behind four hits and two RBIs from both Dimitri Gioules and Sean Degen as well as three hits and two RBIs from Malachai Hickey.  

Parker Smith-LeClair singled and doubled, Jalen Howell and Cody Castine doubled while Mason Lovett knocked two hits for the National League. 

Rotary 10, Aubuchon Hardware 9 — Emerson Maxam hit a walk off single while Jacob Renaund and Nick Cottrill each singled in Rotary’s win Saturday. 

Elias Tripp pitched and had two hits while Josh James and Kaeylynn Dudek hit safely for Aubuchon.

Diane Carme and Raye Young shot the low gross of 157 in the Women’s Flight in the Lebert Memorial Tournament at Country Club of Greenfield Sunday. 

Dylan Archer and Mike Archer won the Augusta Flight (134), Phil Reilley and Mark Kennedy tied with Jay Milkey and Chris Ferro for first in the Valhalla Flight (150), Terry Sinclair and Tom Smith won the Pinehurst Flight (160). 

Nancy Robie and Ellen Bitzer had the low net in the Women’s Flight (123), Michael Duclos and Michael Duclos Jr. had the low net in the Augusta Flight (129), Rich Young and Mike Covey had the low net in the Valhalla Flight (133) while Jim Ewell and Vincent Melendez had the low net in the Pinehurst Flight (137). 

During a Friday Mixer at CCG Keegan Downie and Casey Downie had the low gross (35) while Kylie Laurenitis and Anthony Laurenitis had the low net (30).
