Bulletin Board: Dominic Emery breaks his own state record in bench press

Dominic Emery continues to extend the Massachusetts state bench press record at 148 pounds. 

Competing in the 36th annual Can-Am Powerlifting Championship in Brattleboro on Saturday, Emery — from Montague — put up 310 on the bench, besting his previous state record of 300 pounds, which he set in March. He previously had the open division record in the bench at 148 pounds.

Mia Beckwith and Adie Abercrombie had three hits apiece, while Alissa Battistoni and Hailey Sadler followed with two hits each to help Pristine Oriental to an 8-1 win over Precision Driving on Monday at Murphy Park.

Precision’s Penelope Gioules slashed two hits and Clara Vandoren also had a hit.

Youth baseball

Philip Hannon, Oliver Avery and Zelda Rossi each had five hits as Parody Builders beat Terrazza, 12-6, in GMLB Rookie League action on Monday.

Oscar Lizotte had four hits and Forrest Russell had three hits for Terrazza.

■ Elsewhere Monday,  Noah Stoffolano had three hits, including a triple, and drove in five runs to help Gagne Wealth Management get past Liberty Tax, 14-9. Spencer Wyngowski had four hits and two RBIs for Gagne and Sean Degen added three hits and two RBIs.

Liberty Tax had strong performances by Malachi Hickey (three hits, 2B), Conner Bergeron (4 hits, BB), and Andrew Quintana (two hits, and three Ks on the mound).

■ Smitty’s Pub picked up a pair of wins over Aubuchon Hardware in a doubleheader on Sunday, with Liam Gould striking out nine, PJ Brodeur striking out five, Liam Gould tripling and Ryan Turner doubling to lift Smitty’s to a 5-2 win in the opening game. 

Jacob Miller homered while Corbin Pease and Hunter Wilkins hit safely for Aubuchon. In the second game Preston Charboneau struck out six while Adrian Lopez, Charboneau and Brodeur singled in Smitty’s 4-2 win. Jayden Howard singled in the loss. 

■ Elsewhere on Sunday Jay Philstetler and Ben Shivone each had four hits while Tommy Shivone and Andrew Gardner had two hits in Denny’s Pantry’s 12-6 win over Pioneer Valley Tire. 

Derick Chaisson tripled while Ben Woodard, Riley Gray and Xavier Woodard hit safely in the loss. 

■ Also on Sunday, Conner Bergeron singled and homered, Topher Miller singled to bring in two runs while Messiah Maysonet had a strikeout in Maniatty’s 7-2 win over Turners. 

Liam Kervian and Asa Stebbins hit safely for Turners. 

■ Isiah Ramos and Jack Collins-Bradbury had three hits in Liberty Tax’s 11-8 win over Ruggeri Real Estate on Sunday. Gabriel Heineman had three hits and Colton Urkiel knocked two hits in the loss.

■ Kaydin Snow-Rose had two hits while Blake Grover knocked a hit that brought in a run in New Fortune’s 6-3 win over Lundgren Honda on Sunday. Owen Castine and Toby Campbell hit safely for Lundgren. 

■ On Saturday Natalie Belville and Liam Grant each had four hits in Parody Builders’ 11-10 win over Martin’s Farm. Aiden Martin and Dimitri Gioules each had four hits in the defeat.

Madden Coates and Gavin Keene both hit inside-the-park home runs for the first time as Pipione’s defeated the Elks, 15-9, in action on Monday.

Sammy Choleva and Parker Stacy both singled and drove in a run, while Liam Fox and Tyler Varilly had three walks and three stolen bases.

The team of Keith Burch, David Donoghue, Shane Powell and Mark Waskiewicz teamed for the low gross of 57 to top the men’s division at the Country Club of Greenfield’s GCC Outing on Monday.

Matt Betsold, Jeff Bryant, Russ Kimball and Ted Toothaker won a match of cards to snag low net honors (53).

In the Mixed Division Flight, Matt Bete, Dawn Bete, Bob Provost and Jessica Provost shot 62 for low gross honors. Amanda Clarke, Sam Clarke, Chris Robbins and Mike Pratt (54) had the low net.

In the Women’s Division Flight, Terry Boyce, Maggie Haigis, Danica Hochstetler and Teresa Varner (64) were low gross winners, while Nancy Donoghue,  Kathy Nicoll, Julie Schonbrun and Sue Welenc had low net (57).

Long drive winners were Keith Burch and Karen Sacco, while Bill Bourbeau (6-5) and Tami Gaylor (15-3) were closest to the pin at No. 5. Straightest drive winners were Shane Powell and Sandy Ruggeri.

■ Gordon Parker, Jason Kelton, John Shultis and Jess Lapachinski shot the low gross of 142 in the May ABCD tournament at the Country Club of Greenfield on Sunday. 

David McDonald, Ellen Bitzer, Terry Sinclair and Matt Pitoniak tied with the foursome of Doug Finck, Tom Rogers, Diane Carme and Sam Conant for second (147). Mitchell Parker, Phil Delorey, Ann McHugh and Lou Laplante shot the low net (113) followed by a tie for second between the teams of Doub Welenc, Ernie Patnode, Roy Emerson and Karen Sanders and Danica Hochstetler, Elizabeth Dolby, Ric Weinman and Mike Archer (115). 

■ Bill Erman and Paul Vines took first with 20 points while the teams of Greg Call and Bob Zaikowski, Jamie Bozek and Peter Kuzmeskus, Frank McDonald and Art Belanger and Sharon Rawson and Jonathan Moore tied  for second with 17 points in the Greenfield Elks League last week. 

Paul Viens won closest to the pin on No. 2 (33 feet) while Bob Walker won on No. 5 (8-5).
