Bulletin Board: Gilmore and Farrell wins GMLB Majors title

The Greenfield Minor League Baseball Majors Division championship game took place on Tuesday, and Cody Yetter smacked three hits to lead Gilmore and Farrell to a 22-10 victory over Maniatty at Lunt Field. 

Chase Zraunig had two doubles and a single, Jackson Glazier tallied two hits, Nick Prasol had a double and a single and Jaxon Silva and Brody Cross each hit safely in the win. 

Caleb Dillensneider cracked a home run and a double, Paxton Phelps hit a triple and a single, Bodie Burke knocked two hits, Jakob George hit a double and Nico Siano and Ben Johnston hit safely for Maniatty’s.

Maniatty’s: Caleb Dillensneider (pitched, complete game one-hitter), Nico Siano (1B, 2 2B), Bodie Burke (2 1B, 2B), Carter Gerry (2B), Paxton Phelps (hit), Ben Johnston (hit)

New Fortune: Connor Bergeron (pitched), Desmond Drake (hit), Wade Bardwell (strong defense)

F.C. Babe Ruth 

Franklin County Babe Ruth is holding registration on Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Abercrombie Field. Players 12, 13, 14, 15 and those turning 16 this season are eligible to play.

Alexis Malek, Haylee DeLeo and Kinsley Bergeron each knocked four hits to lead the Greenfield Elks to a 16-4 win over Pristine Orientals in a Nippers game on Tuesday. 

Savannah Thomas and Adie Abercrombie each had a pair of hits while Mia Beckwith hit safely for Pristine. 

Pipione’s 15, Descavich Plumbing 5 (Monday)

Pipione’s: Autumn Thornton (four strikeouts), Grace Laurie (nine strikeouts), Avery Savage (2 hits), Jamilyn Sears (2 hits), Carson Farrell (hit), Sofia Ruggeri (hit)

Descavich: Ameliya Galbraith (hit), Bailey Cusson (hit), Amy VanDoren (strong defense)

Tri-County League

Ryleigh Goodwin had a strikeout, Janessa Sadler had a single and two RBIs, Laura Fuess hit a single and Kalyn Barry turned an unassisted double play for the Northfield Cougars in a 20-14 loss to the NewBrook Falcons on Tuesday. 

Sienna Crowell had five strikeouts, Addison Eldridge hit two singles and a double and Kalia Webb had two hits in the win.

CCG results

Chris Eugin finished with the low score of 40 in the Patty Berg Flight of the 9 Hole Women’s League Back Nine contest on Tuesday at the Country Club of Greenfield. 

Ellen Bitzer shot the low score of 49 in the Nancy Lopez Flight (49), Lisa Sullivan won the Lorena Ochoa Flight (46), Susan Luippold, Dee Racz and Dianne Wood tied for first in the Joanna Carner Flight (52) and Emily Jarvin won the Annika Sorenstom Flight (57). 

Adult softball

Tavern 21, Liberty Tax Sharks 13

David Maston had four hits and three RBIs to help Tavern to a 21-13 win over the Liberty Tax Sharks in Greenfield Co-ed action on Tuesday.

Nick Aldrich (3H, 2 RBI), Stephanie Scott (3H, RBI), Seth Aldrich (2 H, 2 RBI) and Eric Boliski (2H, 4 RBI) had big nights for Tavern.

For the Sharks, Jeff Gibson (3H, 2 RBI), Che Christi (3H, RBI), Abbie O’Connor (2H, RBI), Riley Watroba (2 H, 3 RBI), Jay Watroba (2 H, 2 RBI) all contributed offensively.
