Bulletin Board: CCG women’s teams teams compete in Spring Cup

The Mass Golf Spring Cup held a match at the Country Club of Greenfield on Thursday, with CCG’s No. 2 women’s team falling to Country Club of Wilbraham, 46.5-43.5. 

Elizabeth Archer and TC Emerson won their individual matches for CCG while Sue Welenc earned a tie. 

At Waubeeka Golf Links, CCG’s No. 1 women’s team lost to Waubeeka Golf Links No. 1 team, 46.5-43.5. Barb Killeen, Nancy Donoghue and Irene Woods won their individual matches for CCG. 

Ashfield Community

Elaine Leger and Bob Jillson tied for first in a contest that scored being first on the green and first in the hole with five points each on Thursday in the Ashfield Community Golf Club Fun League. 

Northfield Golf Course

The pair of Pete Lankowski and Jeff Seymour won a match of cards with Mike Phelps and Brian Deane to finish with the low gross of 38 in the Timmons-Messer League on Wednesday at the Northfield Golf Course. 

Matt Deane and Ray Kendrick won a match of cards with Duff Delano and Syla Sengaloun to finish with the low net of 28. In closest to the pin, Seymour won on No. 6 (four feet, one inch) and Ronnie Parker won on No. 7 (three feet, 10 inches). Brian Deane and Seymour were match medalists with a 38. 

Thomas Memorial

Robin Hartnett shot the low gross of 41 while Christine Graves had the low net of 27 in the Thomas Women’s League on Wednesday. 

Donna Mckemmie won closest to the pin on No. 7 (13 feet, 11 inches). 

Youth softball


Adie Abercrombie, Hayden Sadler and Azariah Stebbins each had three hits as Pristine Orientals beat Franklin First Credit Union 5-4 on Thursday in a Nippers contest. 

Amelia Waldron, Dani Zraunig and Samantha Ryder each tallied three hits for Franklin First.

Descavich Heating 17, Triton Automotive 11 (Thursday)

Descavich: Charlie Bishop (hit, pitched), Kyra Tamsin (hit), Ameliya Galbraith (hit), Amy VanDoren (hit), Haddie Connelley (pitched)

Triton: Lenyx Theiren (two hits), JaKayla Rivard (hit)

Tri County

Kalyn Barry struck out four, Janessa Sadler hit an RBI triple, Nevaeh Shippa hit a double and Greta Lewis hit two singles for the Northfield Cougars in a 12-9 loss to Newbrook on Thursday. 

Youth baseball


JJ Grader knocked five hits while Ben Thompson had four hits in Baker Financial’s 18-12 win over Ginger Cats on Thursday in a GMLB Rookie contest. 

Cody Castine and Xavier Gibbons each had three hits for Ginger Cats. 

New Fortune 10, Gilmore and Farrell 2 (Thursday)

New Fortune: Brody Welcome, Osi Ballard, Connor Bergeron (combined one-hitter), Chayton Massa (two hits), Jed Niquette (three hits)

Gilmore and Farrell: Cody Yetter (two runs), Chase Zraunig (hit)

Smitty’s 14, Rotary 2 (Wednesday)

Smitty’s: Casey Burke (hit, pitched), Isaac Tripp (double, single), Jayden Lackey (two hits), Benny Shivone (three hits), Aaron Turner (hit), Elias Tripp (hit)

Rotary: JJ Bones (triple, single), Greg Browne (two hits), Lucas Allenby (hit)

Newt Guilbault

Jordan Sullivan-Paulino hit for the cycle while Grady Deery and Hunter Kelley each had seven strikeouts to lead TFAC to a 23-2 win over Pipione’s on Thursday.
