The Four Rivers Ultimate Tournament was held in steamy temperatures on Saturday at Greenfield Community College, with the host Otter boys taking fifth in the Open A Division. 

Four Rivers picked up a win over Concord Carlisle but lost to Phillips Andover and Xavarian. The Otter JV team came in third in the Open B Division. 

Amherst won the Open A Division, Monument Mountain took the Open B Division and Brattleboro won the Open C Division. 

The girls tournament had a team drop out, meaning the squad wound up scrimmaging.

Youth baseball


Naliyya Monserrate (Liberty Tax), Darick Chaisson (Fitzgerald Real Estate) and Brantley Godfrey (Lundgren Honda) all had four hits to help the American League snag a 15-13 win over the National League in the GMLB AA All-Star Game on Sunday at Lunt Field.

Ryan Turner (Liberty) singled and doubled, while Owen Castine (Lundgren) and Hunter Wilkins (Lundgren) each had three hits for the American League.

Toby Campbell (Pioneer Valley Tire) smacked two doubles for the National League while Quest Peterson (Ruggeri) added a triple. Everett Turner (Bobby C’s) tripled and singled, while Luciana Stoffolono (Bobby C’s) added a single and a double and Adrian Lopez pitched well.

Denny’s 15, Smitty’s 10 (AAA, Saturday)

Denny's: Asa Bouchard (2 hits), Xaviay Reynolds (2 hits), Wesley Darling (2 hits).

Smitty's: Casey Burke (2 hits), Brody Gilbert (hit), Liam Bassett (hit)

Bobby C’s: Josh James (hit), Everett Turner (hit), Gabe Tidund (hit), Alan Fontaine (hit), Noah Stoffolano (hit).

Ruggeri's: Beayden Parody (2 hits), Emerson Maxam (3B), Anthony Ruggeri (hit), Brody Suhl (hit), Jay Philstetler (hit).

The team of Michael  Putala, Barry Dow, Ernie Patnode and Kimberly French shot 142 to win the Country Club of Greenfield’s May ABCD over the weekend.

 Mike Archer, Tom Smith, Jon Rutka and Karen Duclos were second at 147.

Two teams tied for low net with 141: the quartet of Bill Young, Matt Pitoniak, Nancy Donoghue and Michael Ruggeri as well as Douglas Farrick, Mike Plager, Charles  Robbins and Ellen Bitzer.
