Bulletin Board: Big weekend for Tumbling Tigers in Keene

The Franklin County YMCA Tumbling Tigers went up to the Keene YMCA for the Royal Invitational over the weekend where it competed against the Keene, North Shore, Allard Center and Clark YMCA’s. 

The Tigers took first as a team in both Xcel Gold and Level 2, placed second as a team in Level 6 and third as a team in Xcel Silver.

In Level 2 ages 8-9, Evemarie Page placed third on the vault, second on the beam and tied for third in all-around. Aurora Footit tied for second on the vault, took third on the beam, tied for first on the floor and tied for third in all-around. Brenna Zilch placed third on the floor. 

Kyra Tamsin took first in the vault, beam, floor and all-around while placing second on the bars in Level 2 age 10 and up. Lissandra Taylor placed second on vault and all-around, took first on the bars and took third in floor while Ella Shaw-Jarvis tied for third on the vault, took second on the beam and placed third in all-around for the Tigers. 

In Level 6 age 11 and under, Abbygail Lenois tied for second on the vault, took third on the bars, placed first on the beam and took second on floor and all-around. Angelina Ayrapetyan earned third on vault and all-around, placed second on bars and beam and tied for first on the floor. Elsie Baker placed second on bars and beam and took third in all-around in Level 6 age 12 and up. 

Layla Fisher placed third on the bars and beam, tied for first on the floor and took second in all-around in Level 7 while Grayson Bowse placed first on the vault, beam, floor and all-around in Level 8. 

In Xcel Silver ages 8-10, Ella Towne earned first on the beam and third in both the bars and all-around. Olive Klaus took first on bars and second on beam. In Xcel Gold age 12 and under, Virginia Krezmien placed first on bar and floor while tying for second in all-around. Brooke Cherwatti tied for third on the beam and Anna O’Sullivan tied for third on floor. 

Alex Silga placed first on the bars, beam, floor and all-around and took second on vault in Xcel Gold age 14 plus. Ava Garappolo took second on bars, beam and floor and took third in all-around, Anna Carlson-Belanger tied for third on the floor and Shelby Senn placed third on bars and tied for third on floor. 

Michaela Klempner earned second on vault, third on bars and beam, tied for second on floor and took third in all-around in Xcel Platinum age 13 and under while Emma O’Sullivan took third on vault and bars while winning the beam, floor and all-around in Xcel Platinum age 14 and up. Tatum Morse took third in floor and all-around in Xcel Diamond.

Suburban League

Emmett Spriggs scored nine points, Jaiden Lapointe had eight points, Carter Leete scored seven points and Everett Eichorn added four points to lead the Turners Falls to a 30-26 victory over Pioneer in Suburban League grades 5 and 6 boys basketball action on Sunday.

• Elsewhere, the Greenfield boys 5/6 grade squad defeated Belchertown on Sunday behind 34 points from Grayson Thomas and eight points each from Nick Prasol and Conner Bergeron.
