South Deerfield’s Connor Bagdon led the Northfield Mount Hermon School defense to its ninth shutout of the season, and the host Hoggers captured a 2-0 victory over Deerfield Academy in prep school boys soccer action at the Peller Family Field in Gill on Wednesday.

NMH (14-0-2) scored a pair of first-half goals, with senior Clemente Arcuch-Puig and sophomore Augustine Boadi finding the back of the net in the win.

During the Hoggers’ 16-game unbeaten streak, the team has outscored its opponents by a 68-9 mark.

Deerfield will host Choate this Saturday at noon in the season finale while NMH will host Williston Northampton School.

■ In girls soccer action on Wednesday, NMH blanked Berkshire School, 4-0, behind a pair of goals from Emma Wennar.

Aniela “Kiwi” Jensen and Salma Ramirez also tallied, while Maria Echezaretta, Peyton Pettiford-Rowan and Sydney May notched assists. Echezaretta made six saves in net for the shutout.

Deerfield results

The Big Green scored a 4-0 win over Williston on the field hockey pitch, Wednesday. The girls soccer team fell to Wilbraham Monson, 1-0, and the volleyball team swept St. Paul’s, 3-0.

Four Rivers basketball

Four Rivers Charter Public School is seeking a middle school basketball coach beginning Dec. 2, ending Feb. 14. The school is looking for a positive, team-oriented coach who is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons for practices and games. Pioneer Suburban

Pioneer Suburban Basketball is holding tryouts on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Pioneer Valley Regional School in Northfield. 

The tryout is open to any student from grades 4-8 in the Pioneer Valley Regional School District or those who reside in Northfield, Bernardston, Leyden or Warwick.

Mohawk Suburban

Mohawk Suburban Basketball is holding tryouts for the upcoming season on Friday at 6 p.m.

Tryouts will be held at Mohawk Trail Regional High School for grades 4-6, and are open to any student in grades 4-6 in the Mohawk Trail Regional District or those who reside in Shelburne, Buckland, Colrain, Charlemont, Heath, Rowe, Hawley, Ashfield or Plainfield.
