Franklin County Technical School will compete in the State Small School Vocational Football Tournament today at noon against Lynn Vocational Technical High School at Manning Field in Lynn.

The Eagles (5-5) earned the fourth seed in the four-team field and will face third-seeded Lynn Tech, which enters the game 8-2. The top two seeds — Blackstone Valley Technical High School and Nashoba Regional Technical High School — are playing in the MIAA State semifinals this weekend, setting up a unique scenario.

If Blackstone Valley and Nashoba each lose today, the two teams will square off on the Thursday after Thanksgiving in the Vocational Super Bowl. The winner of today’s game between Franklin Tech and Lynn Tech will be determined the third-place finisher. If one of the two teams (Blackstone Valley and Nashoba) wins today, the team that loses will play the winner of the Franklin Tech/Lynn Tech game on the Thursday after Thanksgiving to determine the Vocational Tournament champion. If both Blackstone and Nashoba win today, then the winner of the Franklin Tech/Lynn Tech game will be determined the Vocational champion.
