Winning a title is never easy, but the Franklin County Bulldogs put it all together Sunday to do just that.
The Bulldogs rallied from a 13-0 halftime deficit, and Casey Burke’s conversion with two minutes remaining lifted the club to a 26-25 win over Southbridge in the Suburban League PeeWee Super Bowl.
Franklin County battled back led by the running attack of Bryce Zraunig. Burke’s conversion gave the Bulldogs a 26-25 lead, and the defense held on to seal the deal with a stand on the final drive.

Tickets for the Thanksgiving game between Athol and Mahar are available for presale at Athol High School, Athol-Royalston Middle School, Athol Community Elementary School, Athol American Legion, Mahar Key Club and Highland Spirits.
Tickets are on sale for $7 at those locations. Tickets will be $10 at the gate on game day.
CollegesO’Sullivan qualifies for Nationals
Westfield State’s Amy O’Sullivan added to her stellar senior season by qualifying for the 2021 NCAA Div. III Championship meet after placing eighth overall individually at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn.
The top seven runners not on a qualifying team received bids. O’Sullivan finished the 6,000 meter course in a time of 22:23.6.
Westfield State soccer falls
Orange’s Delaney Parker and the Westfield State women’s soccer team fell to The College of New Jersey, 4-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Div. 3 tournament on Saturday.
The Owls close out their season with a 15-5-1 record. TCNJ scored three of its goals in the second half.
Youth hockeyFCHA
Preston Charboneau made 14 save s in net to help FCHA Gilmore & Farrell Insurance get past Brattleboro, 7-3, in a Greater Springfield League Squirts Division game Sunday.
Asa Bouchard scored four goals and assisted on another, while Bryce Zraunig and Lucas Spofford also tallied. Finn Coffin assisted on two of FCHA’s goals.
The club dropped a 6-5 decision to Pioneer Valley on Saturday, despite 14 saves from Charboneau and four goals from Bouchard. Camden Kimball had the team’s other goal.
The FCHA Dillon Chevrolet hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie with Nonotuck on Saturday thanks to 24 saves from goalie Sasha Savinov. Ryan Spofford, Lucas Bailey and Mylena Prunier all scored for FCHA.
The FCHA Silver hockey team fell to the Springfield Capitals, 18-3, in action Sunday at Collins-Moylan Arena. Jamison Baleno tallied twice and Brodie Gagne had a goal and an assist. Assists went to Stephen Rich and Lucian Pierre, and Loki Rhodes made 14 saves.
BowlingScott Schneider and Ke ndall Schneider rolled the high single score of 108 and tied with Jon Hall and Jenay Hall for the high triple score of 274 in a Scotch Doubles game at the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley last week.
Bri Clark had the women’s high single (107) and triple (273) scores in the Monday Mixed League while Erich Price had the men’s high single (116) and triple (311).
Marilyn Wilson rolled the high single (115) and triple (285) in the Tuesday Ladies League.
In the Wednesday Mixed League, Caitlin Millett tallied the women’s high single (106) while Bri Clark had the women’s high triple (286). Chris Rice rolled the men’s high single (107) while Dennis Millett had the men’s high triple (285).
