GREENFIELD — The Franklin County Solid Waste Management District’s fall “Clean Sweep” Bulky Waste Recycling Day has been canceled.

In place of the event, originally scheduled for Oct. 17, Greenfield residents can take most items typically collected at “Clean Sweep” to the Greenfield Transfer Station, according to a press release from the waste management district. Non-residents can pay $5 per load, plus specific disposal fees per item.

For hours and pricing, visit tinyurl.com/GreenfieldTS.

Throughout the county, residents are encouraged to recycle computer equipment and televisions at their local transfer station, if an e-waste collection program is available there, or at the Greenfield Transfer Station.

Staples stores also accept computer equipment free of charge, and various charities and nonprofits take donations of working electronics, including Salvation Army and Goodwill stores. The release advises calling ahead to confirm the equipment can be taken.

Any other questions can be directed to the Franklin County Solid Waste Management District at 413-772-2438 or info@franklincountywastedistrict.org.
