ORANGE — The Orange Fire Department responded to Meadow Lane after a call came in at 3:02 p.m. for a fire at a residence on the street.

Fire Chief James Young said there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters at that time. All individuals in the home were out before firefighters arrived, he said.

Water sprayed down onto the home from a hose attached to a fire truck ladder while multiple firefighters worked to put the fire out. Not many residents from the neighborhood were present during the scene.

Young said his department and the ones from Athol, New Salem, Phillipston and Erving responded to the scene. He said Wood’s Ambulance responded as well.

The Warwick Fire Department was at the Orange station covering the town during the incident, said Young.

The Orange Police Department was directing traffic outside of Meadow Lane on South Main Street.

Young said there is currently no known cause of the fire. The investigation is in its early stages and the Fire Marshal’s Office was headed to the scene to work with a local investigator on uncovering the cause.
